[Seamless] Stainless Steel Precision Seamless Tube by cold drawing or cold rolling, without any welded seam

Stainless Steel Precision Seamless Tube

What is Stainless Steel Precision Seamless Tube?

Stainless steel precision seamless tube is a high-accuracy tubular product manufactured without any welded seam. It is produced through processes such as extrusion or piercing, followed by cold drawing or cold rolling to achieve precise dimensional tolerances, smooth surface finishes, and consistent mechanical properties. Unlike welded tubes, seamless construction eliminates the risk of weld-related defects, making it ideal for high-pressure and critical applications. The term "precision" refers to the tight control over outer diameter, inner diameter, and wall thickness, typically achieving tolerances within ±0.15 mm.

Why Choose Stainless Steel Precision Seamless Tube?

Precision seamless tubes offer a combination of performance advantages that make them the preferred choice for demanding applications:

  • Superior Strength — With no welded seam, the tube exhibits uniform strength throughout, capable of withstanding high pressure and extreme temperatures

  • Tight Dimensional Tolerances — Achieved through cold drawing or cold rolling, ensuring consistent outer and inner diameters for precise fit and assembly

  • Smooth Surface Finish — Both inner and outer surfaces are exceptionally smooth, reducing friction, improving flow characteristics, and facilitating cleaning

  • Excellent Corrosion Resistance — Available in austenitic grades such as 304/304L and 316/316L, providing reliable performance in corrosive environments

  • High Reliability — No heat-affected zone (HAZ) means consistent microstructure and reduced risk of failure under cyclic loading or bending

  • Wide Material Selection — Available in various stainless steel grades, including duplex and super-austenitic alloys for specialized applications

Process Overview

The production of stainless steel precision seamless tube begins with a solid stainless steel billet. The billet is heated and then formed into a hollow tube shell through either extrusion or piercing.

Once the hollow shell is formed, it undergoes cold drawing or cold rolling. This process reduces the tube's diameter and wall thickness while improving dimensional accuracy and surface smoothness. Multiple cold working passes may be applied, with annealing (heat treatment) performed between passes to restore ductility and corrosion resistance.

After reaching the final dimensions, the tube is straightened, cut to length, and undergoes surface finishing. Strict quality inspections — including dimensional checks, hydrostatic testing, and non-destructive testing — are carried out to ensure the tube meets the required specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why Does Stainless Steel Have Magnetism?

Stainless steel can be magnetic depending on its internal structure. Austenitic grades like 304 and 316 are normally non-magnetic, but ferritic (430) and martensitic (410) grades are magnetic due to their different crystal structure. Even 304 or 316 may become slightly magnetic after cold working such as bending or stamping, which transforms some austenite into martensite. Therefore, magnetism does not indicate quality — it simply reflects the steel's microstructure and processing history.

Production Lead Time

For standard materials and sizes held in stock, delivery is guaranteed within 3 days of payment receipt. For products requiring custom dimensions or surface finishes, the lead time is 7 to 15 working days after payment confirmation. Specific delivery schedules should be confirmed with customer service at the time of order placement.

Inventory

A substantial inventory is maintained to ensure prompt delivery. Stock availability varies by material grade and dimensions. To avoid potential delays, please confirm current stock levels with your sales representative prior to placing an order.

Product Quality Assurance

Applicable product standards must be specified at the time of order. For projects with specific technical requirements, please provide detailed parameters, tolerance ranges, and other relevant specifications. A dedicated quality inspection department oversees all stages of production to ensure full compliance. Upon completion, accurate measurements, inspection images, video documentation, and material test reports are provided for customer confirmation.

Sample Support

Complimentary samples are available in any size; however, international shipping fees apply. These charges are deductible from future order payments following formal cooperation. Customized samples are also available for a fee. For further details, please consult your sales representative.

Outer Packaging Marking

Custom markings on outer packaging are available upon request at no additional cost. Once the marking design is approved, it will be affixed using waterproof tape. If no specific marking is requested, packaging will be shipped without markings by default.

Surface Marking

Material grade, dimensions, and other identifying information may be spray-marked directly onto the steel plate surface upon request. For applicable charges, please consult your sales representative.

Packaging

Standard wooden pallet packaging is provided at no extra cost, with a loading capacity of 1 to 3 tons per pallet. Alternative packaging options, such as iron pallets, are available upon request. Please contact your sales representative for details — bulk orders qualify for preferential pricing.

Transportation

We maintain partnerships with multiple freight forwarders to offer competitive land, air, and sea freight options. If you have a preferred freight forwarder, we can arrange delivery to your agent's warehouse or to the designated port of shipment.

Inspection

Factory inspections and product inspections are fully supported. Customers are welcome to visit our facility for in-person inspections. Alternatively, third-party inspection agencies, including SGS, may be arranged to conduct on‑site inspections.
