A stainless steel sanitary tube is a high-purity tube designed specifically for hygienic applications in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries. Unlike standard industrial tubes, sanitary tubes feature an extremely smooth internal surface (typically Ra ≤ 0.4 μm) to prevent bacterial growth, product adhesion, and contamination. They are manufactured to strict sanitary standards such as ASTM A270, ISO 2037, DIN 11850, and ASME BPE.
Stainless steel sanitary tubes offer superior corrosion resistance, excellent cleanability, and reliable performance in sterile environments. The smooth internal finish allows for easy cleaning (CIP/SIP) and prevents product residue buildup. They are typically made from 304 or 316L stainless steel, providing excellent resistance to acidic, alkaline, and high-temperature cleaning agents. Sanitary tubes are available with various quick-connect fittings (Tri-Clamp, IDF, SMS, RJT) for easy assembly and disassembly without tools.
Stainless steel sanitary tubes are manufactured with strict control over surface finish and weld quality. The process begins with high-quality stainless steel coil. The strip is formed into a tube shape and welded using TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding with inert gas protection on both the inside and outside to prevent oxidation. After welding, the internal weld bead is mechanically removed or rolled flat to achieve a smooth, crevice-free surface. The tube then undergoes solution annealing and pickling to restore corrosion resistance. Finally, the internal surface is electropolished or mechanically polished to achieve the required roughness (Ra ≤ 0.4 μm). Each tube is inspected for surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and cleanliness before packaging.

Austenitic grades like 304 and 316 are normally non-magnetic, but ferritic (430) and martensitic (410) grades are magnetic due to their different crystal structure. Even 304 or 316 may become slightly magnetic after cold working such as bending or stamping, which transforms some austenite into martensite. Therefore, magnetism does not indicate quality — it simply reflects the steel's microstructure and processing history.

For products requiring custom dimensions or surface finishes, the lead time is 7 to 15 working days after payment confirmation.
